Social Skills
The Academy Schools seek to change the environment to modify behaviors that may keep
students from participating in a variety of social and community settings.
Our curriculum utilizes systematic, sequential instruction based on the principles of Applied
Behavior Analysis. Areas of focus include:
- Learning effective ways to communicate needs.
- Improving problem solving skills.
- Learning alternatives to aggressive/impulsive behaviors in situations.
- Increasing ability to empathize.
- Learning about boundaries and rules.
- Striving to work together to have a positive group experience.
