Social Skills
The Academy Schools seek to change the environment to modify behaviors that may keep
students from participating in a variety of social and community settings.

Our curriculum utilizes systematic, sequential instruction based on the principles of Applied
Behavior Analysis.  Areas of focus include:

  • Learning effective ways to communicate needs.
  • Improving problem solving skills.
  • Learning alternatives to aggressive/impulsive behaviors in situations.
  • Increasing ability to empathize.
  • Learning about boundaries and rules.
  • Striving to work together to have a positive group experience.
